With warmers days and lighter evenings, it can only mean one thing…entertaining! Everyone loves lazy and well deserved relaxing days with great friends and family. As we wind down into celebratory mode for being recognised for hard work or being promoted. We can therefore, shed our past accomplishments for something better and so too should our drinks.

Here are two fabulously refreshing drinks with tonnes of sparkle to celebrate good times. These drinks are great for entertaining and perfect for any time of day or night when you are in definite need of that something extra special and uncomplicated. So here’s to a fantastic time, cheers!

Blueberry Gin Smash
Serves 1
Shopping List:

1-2 shots (1.5-3 ounces) Gin (depending on glass size), chilled
A small handful of fresh blueberries (roughly 6-9 blueberries)
Original tonic, chilled
Ice cubes
½ teaspoon sugar
1 lime wedge
Fresh mint sprig, to garnish


In a tall glass or a tumbler, combine the sugar and a squeeze of lime juice. With a tall spoon, mix, stir thoroughly to dissolve the sugar.

Add the blueberries and lightly mix.

Top the glass with ice and pour the gin slowly over the ice. Top with chilled tonic and garnish with a sprig of mint.

Dry Cucumber Cooler
Serves 1
Shopping List:

1-2 shots (1.5-3 ounces) Gin (depending on glass size), chilled
2 lime wedges
1 bottle (200ml) of mint and bitters tonic, chilled
2 thin slices of baby cucumber, sliced lengthways and thin as possible
2 to 4 fresh mint leaves


Fill a tall glass or tumbler with ice, carefully pour in the gin and squeeze the lime juice over the gin and ice.

Bruise the mint leaves and drop them into the glass. Place the thin slices of cucumber around the side of the glass and fill the glass with tonic and stir.
